Investment
Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT) The
Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT) was established in
late 2006 by the Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan and it is part of the Turkish Prime
Ministry since then. It is ISPAT’s ambition to render assistance to foreign
enterprises when investing in Turkey. The agency works in accordance with the
one-stop shop approach, that is, it helps the companies in every respect before,
during and after an investment in Turkey – and does so free of charge. Since the foundation
of the German branch of ISPAT in 2007 Michael Maasmeier, managing partner of
the COUNTERPART GROUP, is Turkey’s economic ambassador in Germany. As a
strategic consultant Maasmeier has already managed projects dealing with the
infrastructures of Switzerland and Eastern Germany and contributed significantly
to the successful restructuring of the regions. Public
Affairs accompanies ISPAT as its official press agency. The service offered by
ISPAT is advertised by target-oriented public relations and its range of
support is made public effectively through the media. Furthermore, Public
Affairs enhances Turkey’s profile as a business location in general and brings
to the fore the great conditions for investments as well as the promotion
programmes of the Turkish government. The target media are in particular those
concerned with economy and finance, as well as professional journals and the
daily press. Moreover, Public
Affairs developed a nationwide event strategy for ISPAT which is carried out consequently.
Besides a public address via media, German enterprises become directly
acquainted with the chances of an investment in Turkey through events and
congresses. At symposia about Turkey representatives of ISPAT from Turkey as
well as Germany give information about the investment conditions on the spot.
Other Turkey experts, as well as entrepreneurs who are already engaged in the
Turkish business environment, report about their experiences at first hand. In
cooperation with the top 10 of Germany’s chambers of industry and commerce,
business consultancies, accountancy firms as well as entrepreneurs and
industrial associations, Public Affairs organises informational events for
ISPAT at which the advantages of an investment in Turkey are explained to
interested decision makers.
