In 1991, the management consultant and crisis manager Michael Maasmeier founded Counterpart GmbH, an advertising agency that combines strategic (management) consulting with professional communications. In 1997 this was expanded to include the PR agency public affairs. The reasoning behind this step was the conviction that strategic, cross-channel consulting was vital for the success of our clients and that only those who think holistically and compre-hensively will be able to cross the finish line first. This is why public affairs covers all of the disciplines of public relations – from corporate communications to brand and product PR, crisis and event PR all the way to lobbying.
